Radon Testing

Do I need a radon test?

Many home buyers decide to have the home tested for radon as part of the inspection process. While the EPA and the Surgeon General recommend that all homes be tested for radon, this can be especially important in the Atlanta area due to the fact that parts of metro-Atlanta and north Georgia as classified as Zone 1 - High Radon Potential Areas.

What is radon?

Radon is a cancer-causing, radioactive gas.  You cannot see, smell, or taste it, but breathing in elevated levels of radon can increase your risk for lung cancer.

What if a radon test comes back elevated?
We use the most advanced radon monitors on the market to ensure accurate testing and to prevent potential tampering with the test.  If elevated radon levels are indicated in a home, a mitigation system can be installed to ensure that radon levels are managed and the home is safe.

More information regarding radon testing can be found in the EPA's "Home Buyers and Sellers Guide to Radon"
